Perfectly imperfect – ceramics from Tamegroute
This fantastically beautiful bowl is pure and has a Maillechort silver rim. At the same time, its special color gradient makes it appear lively and therefore anything but monotonous.
The traditionally made pottery comes from the oasis town of Tamegroute in the south of Morocco. The glaze gets its color from the minerals found in the region's soil. This creates the characteristic green color during the firing process, which ranges from ocher yellow to bottle green.
The three dots inside and on the bottom of the bowl are created when stacked in the oven. Just like possible irregularities, these points are not a quality defect. Quite the opposite: They are a sign of the originality of this centuries-old art of pottery and therefore a quality feature that makes each bowl truly unique. The imperfection is what creates the special charm here.
